    After obtaining his Master of Arts/Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Fried received his medical degree in 1988 from New York University School of Medicine (where he graduated AOA). He completed his internship and residency at the Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA (a Harvard teaching hospital). He spent time there as Medical Chief Resident at the Brockton/West Roxbury VA Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

     Dr. Fried is currently board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is also a Clinical Instructor in Medicine and actively teaches medical students at the New York University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology.

     Dr. Fried is an Attending Physician in Gastroenterology at Huntington Hosptial, Huntington, NY, and Bellevue Hospital Center, New York, NY. He is a physician partner in North Country Medical Associates along with Drs. Bermanski and Purow. He is also codirector of the Digestive Health Center in Huntington where he performs endoscopic procedures. He has a particular interest in motility disorders of the GI tract.
